Sophia Caressa is an Actor, Dancer, and Singer based out of NYC.

She studied Musical Theatre and Commercial Dance at the Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA). She then advanced her classical and contemporary training at the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts (PCPA). During the weekdays, Sophia attended the acting conservatory full time, and during the evenings and weekends Sophia rehearsed and performed in six MainStage shows with the Pacific Conservatory Theatre, an Equity Theatre in California. She earned EMC status prior to graduating.

Most recently, Sophia originated the role of Ruth in the workshop of Ellis Stump’s new play, “Once on Rumspringa” at 2nd Stage Theatre in NYC and was an on-stage Swing and Dance Captain for Disney’s The Little Mermaid under Broadway choreographer Adam Cates (Anastasia, A Gentlemen’s Guide to Love and Murder).

Sophia strives to be a mission mover and sees storytelling as one of the most important medicines we have for community and individual healing. She is a Registered Nurse and has drawn on her experience working with vulnerable populations to inform her work. Next up, Sophia will be pursuing a Master’s Degree part time in Narrative Medicine and Devised Theatre.
